From Farm to Lunch Tray: Bongards Cheese, Local Produce, and Legislative Conversations

The Dunn County Dairy Promotion Committee was proud to sponsor grilled cheese lunches for Menomonie elementary schools, made with Bongards cheese and paired with tomato soup featuring local produce from Bushel & Peck in Eau Claire.
Over lunch, we visited with a staff member from Rep. Van Orden’s

office and the district’s Food & Nutrition Services director, Stacy Nelson, to talk about the Strengthening Local Food Security Act and the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act — two important efforts to support farmers and nourish kids.
